YOUR QUESTIONS

Your Christmas questions, answered.

01 · BEFORE YOU BOOK

Tickets and booking

No. The Light Trail, Skating Rink and The Grotto are separately ticketed, with each ticket including access to the village area. VIP Skating includes two skating sessions and the VIP extras; VIP Skating + Light Trail also includes the trail. The Grotto is booked separately.

You can book additional experiences on the day, subject to availability. Advance booking is recommended to secure your preferred date and session.

Standard tickets are non-refundable if you change your mind or cannot attend. However, this does not affect your statutory rights or the options that may apply if the organiser cancels, reschedules or materially changes the event. Contact Fever Support about an affected booking.

Tickets are non-transferable unless the organiser gives permission. If you need permission, contact Fever Support with your request. The optional Flexi Ticket Guarantee concerns changing the date; it does not provide a transfer to another person.

Flexi costs £3.50 per ticket and must be added during booking. It is available for all ticket types and permits one date change to the same day type and ticket price, subject to availability. Contact Fever Support more than 24 hours before your visit to arrange the change. Before you finish booking, check that Flexi has been added to every ticket you want covered.

No. Present your booking QR code through the Fever app or Apple/Google Wallet on arrival. Before you travel, make sure you can access the code.

Contact Fever Support for help locating your booking and accessing the QR code.

Yes. The Grotto allows a maximum of eight guests per booking, including adults and children; on Christmas Tails visits the limit includes dogs. VIP Packages are for four, six or eight people. Contact Fever Support for a corporate or bespoke enquiry.

Yes. Select an Under 1 Ticket when booking the Light Trail or The Grotto, even though admission is free. A free Grotto Under 1 Ticket does not include a gift; buy a full child ticket if you want a gift. Under-ones cannot skate.

Light Trail tickets from £15.98
£15 ticket + £0.98 booking fee.

Skating Rink tickets from £10.65
£10 ticket + £0.65 booking fee.

The Grotto from £42.60 for one adult and one child
£40 tickets + £2.60 booking fee.

VIP Package from £426 for four, without the Light Trail
£400 package + £26 booking fee.

Prices vary by date, session, product and party size. Check the total for your selected booking. All headline prices above include the booking fee.

Standard tickets do not include date changes. With the optional Flexi Ticket Guarantee, you can make one date change to the same day type and ticket price, subject to availability. Contact Fever Support more than 24 hours before your booked visit.

Yes. The lead booker does not need to attend, provided the attending guests have access to the booking QR code through Fever. This is different from reselling or transferring a ticket after purchase.

YOUR VIP CHRISTMAS

The finer details of VIP.

Both VIP options include reserved seating in our heated lounge beside the skating rink, with VIP concierge service. Choose a package for four, six or eight guests.

Each guest can choose one menu item from Meister Sausages (German Swing Grill), The Friary (Loaded Fries) or The Pudding Factory. There is also unlimited hot chocolate, marshmallows to toast around the fire pit and unlimited mulled wine for adults.

Plus, every guest takes home a Christmas blanket and tote bag. Priority Parking gives you hard-standing parking close to the experience.

Your package includes two 45-minute skating sessions, skate hire and a 15-minute break. The reserved seating is yours for 1 hour 45 minutes.

VIP Skating at 11:00 or 13:00 excludes the Light Trail. For priority Light Trail access, choose a VIP Skating + Light Trail session from 15:00. Trail entry starts at 16:30. Sessions vary by date, and The Grotto is booked separately.

Priority Parking means guaranteed hard-standing parking with close access. Some standard vehicles also use the Walled Garden car park, so the benefit is the guaranteed surface and close access rather than an exclusively VIP parking location.

VIP Skating packages start from £426 for four guests, including the booking fee (£400 package + £26 booking fee). This starting price is for a daytime package without the Light Trail. VIP Skating + Light Trail packages cost more. Prices vary by date, session and group size; check the total for your chosen package when booking.

The 11:00 and 13:00 sessions take place well before the Light Trail opens, so these packages exclude it to avoid requiring a long wait. Packages starting from 15:00 onwards include the trail.

No. Standard Light Trail entry begins at 16:30. Guests with a trail-inclusive VIP Package can enter through the Light Trail’s main entrance any time from 16:30 during the trail admission hours for their date. The VIP start time is the package start, not immediate trail entry.

No. Depending on the date, VIP starts may be 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00. However, some dates omit 11:00, 19:00 or both. Use the available sessions for your selected date.

Your reserved VIP area is available for 1 hour 45 minutes. Skating is in two 45-minute sessions, separated by a 15-minute reset when guests must leave the rink. For example, a 15:00 VIP start includes the 15:00 and 16:00 skating sessions. The 1 hour 45 minutes describes use of the reserved area; Light Trail entry, where included, follows the separate trail admission hours.

Each guest can choose one included menu item from Meister Sausages (German Swing Grill), The Friary (Loaded Fries) or The Pudding Factory, with vegan and vegetarian options available. Unlimited hot chocolate, marshmallows to toast around the fire pit and unlimited mulled wine for adult guests are also included. Other food and drinks are available to purchase separately. The Grotto is booked separately. Contact Fever Support about dietary needs.

02 · CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE

Ages, times and experiences

The Light Trail and The Grotto welcome all ages, including babies. Under 1s enter free for the Light Trail, but a ticket is required. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult; ages 13+ may attend without an adult. Other activities may have different age rules.

For The Grotto, everyone under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult aged 18 or over.

Skating is for ages 3 and over. Children under 8 must skate with a paying adult, with a maximum of three children per adult. Children aged 8 to 12 may skate independently, but a responsible adult must remain at rink side.

Allow up to 60 minutes for the Light Trail, 45 minutes for a standard Skating Rink session and up to 60 minutes for The Grotto. The Grotto starts with a 15-minute group mission with the estate elves, followed by an individual family visit to Father Christmas; the order of visits affects the total time.

Follow fairy lights and music into a magical Christmas adventure to help the estate elves find a way to track Father Christmas’s sleigh around the world. The 15-minute group experience invites imagination, play and teamwork, followed by your own family visit to Father Christmas. Each paid child ticket includes a special souvenir plush gift. Adults need an adult ticket. Allow up to 60 minutes in total.

The opening mission with the estate elves is shared with other families, with imagination, play and teamwork at its heart. Your family then has an individual visit to Father Christmas. The order of visits affects how long you spend in The Grotto.

The maximum is eight guests per booking, including adults and children. On Christmas Tails sessions, dogs also count towards the eight. Guests under 18 must attend with a paying adult aged 18 or over.

Yes, you may take your own photographs. Official photographs can also be viewed and purchased afterwards at an additional cost. Be considerate of other guests and photograph your own party where possible.

Our Skating Rink uses Glice, a synthetic skating surface designed for use with real ice skates. You can glide and turn without frozen water beneath your feet. No refrigeration or water is needed to create or maintain the skating surface, reducing the energy and resources needed to keep a conventional ice rink frozen.

Children under 8 must skate with a paying adult. One adult may supervise up to three children. In contrast, children aged 8 to 12 may skate independently, but a responsible adult must remain at rink side.

Standard skate hire is included. A range of sizes is available, subject to availability. Alternatively, bring your own skates for the rink team to check. However, speed skates are not permitted. The team decides whether personal skates are suitable.

Make Christmas memories together in a historic estate setting. Choose the illuminated Light Trail, a session on the Skating Rink or a story-led visit to Father Christmas in The Grotto. For more time together, choose VIP Skating or VIP Skating + Light Trail with reserved seating in a heated lounge, food, unlimited hot chocolate and unlimited mulled wine for adult guests. You can also buy seasonal food, drink and merchandise separately. Live entertainment runs on event opening days from 4 to 24 December 2026.

Leave around 90 minutes between the start times of booked experiences. This allows time for the attraction, moving between areas and a short break. Before booking, check that the selected sessions work together.

The illuminated route is one mile through the historic Walled Garden. Allow up to 60 minutes to enjoy the projections, light installations and soundscapes.

The Light Trail welcomes all ages. Prams are permitted, but natural terrain and woodland paths can make compact or travel-style prams harder to manoeuvre. Dress for an outdoor winter visit.

Yes. An older sibling who does not want a gift can use an adult ticket, provided at least one child ticket is included in the booking. However, the group must still include a paying adult aged 18 or over. The sibling’s adult ticket does not include a gift.

Skaters must be aged 3 or over. Children under 3 cannot use the rink.

Yes. A limited number of Skating Guides are available for children aged 8 and under. They cost £5 for a session and can be reserved in advance, subject to availability. In addition, rink marshals are present during skating sessions.

Wear suitable socks and warm clothing. We strongly recommend that children under 12 wear gloves while skating; this is not mandatory. Follow the rink team’s instructions. For the rest of your visit, wear sturdy footwear for walking around the outdoor site.

No. Bags, loose items, food, drink and chewing gum are not permitted on the skating surface. Limited storage is available at skate hire; belongings are left at the owner’s risk.

Follow the marshals and skate in the instructed direction. Racing, excessive speed, dangerous manoeuvres and deliberate contact are prohibited. Children must not be carried on the rink.

No. The event is separate from Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa. Use the Lime Tree Avenue entrance, LU1 4LF. Fever Support handles event booking enquiries; please do not contact the hotel about tickets.

Yes. Free parking is included. General parking includes an adjacent tracked field, no more than a five-minute walk from the entrance, and some spaces in the Walled Garden car park. Follow the marshals’ instructions.

Arrive at least 30 minutes before your earliest booked experience. This gives you time to park, walk to the entrance and pass through security. You may arrive earlier during site opening hours to enjoy food and drink; check the opening hours for your date.

Vehicles enter via Lime Tree Avenue and exit via Farm Road. Lime Tree Avenue is the only pedestrian entrance and exit. Use LU1 4LF for the event entrance and follow the Christmas at Luton Hoo Estate signs.

Nearby rail stations include Luton Airport Parkway and Harpenden. Plan the onward journey to Lime Tree Avenue, LU1 4LF, and check current services before travelling. For those arriving on foot, a pedestrian path runs along Lime Tree Avenue. Taxi or arranged drop-off may be useful for the onward journey.

The event is cashless, so there is no cash machine on site.

Yes. Toilets are available on site, with baby-changing and accessible facilities in the main marquee.

There are no lockers or cloakroom facilities. However, limited storage is available at skate hire for skating guests. Belongings are left at the owner’s risk.

The public event runs on selected dates from 4 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. Please note that the event is closed on 7, 8, 25 and 26 December. The Grotto operates on selected dates through 24 December. Check the calendar for the experience you want; opening days and session times vary by product.

Late arrivals may not be accommodated because attractions operate with timed sessions and limited capacity. If you are late, speak to the team on arrival. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your first booking to avoid missing your session.

Yes. A drop-off and pick-up zone is provided. Follow the signs and the parking team’s instructions on arrival.

Yes. Woodland paths and uneven ground may be harder to navigate with compact or travel-style prams. Therefore, allow extra time to move around the site.

Seating is available in the food and drink area and within The Grotto, subject to availability. Covered communal areas are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yes. Festive gifts, souvenirs and seasonal merchandise will be available to buy, including items for dogs.

04 · ACCESS

Accessibility and Starlight sessions

The event includes natural outdoor terrain. Parts of the Light Trail and The Grotto may be uneven or muddy and may be challenging for some wheelchairs, mobility aids and prams. Accessible parking and toilets are available. Before visiting, contact Fever Support with your specific needs.

Mobility scooters are permitted. However, natural terrain on the Light Trail and around The Grotto can make scooters unstable. Contact Fever Support about your mobility requirements before booking.

Accessible parking is on hard standing with close access. Display a valid Blue Badge. Spaces are subject to availability, so speak to the parking team if you need assistance.

Yes. One complimentary Essential Companion Ticket is available for an eligible disabled guest who needs support to attend. Supporting evidence is required. Contact Fever Support about your needs and eligibility.

Book the tickets for your party excluding the Essential Companion, then send your supporting evidence to Fever Support. Fever will issue the complimentary companion ticket once eligibility is approved. For an eligible guest with a qualifying booking, the companion ticket is guaranteed even if that session subsequently sells out. Contact Fever Support before paying if you need help understanding eligibility.

If you need a quiet space, visit the Guest Services desk in the main conservatory. The team will direct you to an appropriate space on the day.

Starlight sessions offer guests with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families 50% capacity within the specified Light Trail and Grotto sessions, quieter audio and the option to move at a slower pace. Dates are 5, 11 and 13 December 2026: Light Trail at 16:00 and The Grotto at 18:30. However, the wider event is not at reduced capacity. Lighting stays unchanged, and no Starlight adjustments apply to the Skating Rink.

Wheelchairs are permitted on the rink with a companion assisting in skates. Both the wheelchair user and companion need a valid ticket. However, the companion cannot assist in ordinary shoes. Contact Fever Support about individual access needs and Essential Companion eligibility before your visit.

No. Wheelchairs are not available for hire at the event.

Accepted evidence includes DLA or PIP award documentation; Attendance Allowance or Carer’s Allowance award letters; Incapacity Benefit, ESA or Disabled Students’ Allowance documentation; a valid Disabled ID card or Blue Badge; a BD8 registration card or Certificate of Visual Impairment; or a Nimbus or CredAbility Access Card with the Companion or +1 symbol. Ask Fever Support how to submit the evidence for your request.

The companion must be over 14 and able to provide the support the disabled guest needs throughout the visit. However, this does not replace the event’s adult-supervision rules for children or the paying-adult requirement for The Grotto.

An Essential Companion Ticket relates to disability-related support beyond ordinary parental supervision. If a child needs additional one-to-one support, explain those needs to Fever Support when requesting a ticket.

Requests for more than one Essential Companion are considered individually. Contact Fever Support with details of the support required.

Contact Fever Support in advance about your requirements and speak to staff on arrival. Where possible, seating towards the front of The Grotto can be arranged. Seating and adjustments depend on the circumstances of the visit.

05 · ON THE NIGHT

Food, weather and safety

Yes. Discover seasonal food and drink during your visit. VIP guests enjoy one food choice per guest from Meister Sausages, The Friary or The Pudding Factory, unlimited hot chocolate, marshmallows to toast around the fire pit and unlimited mulled wine for adult guests included in their package. Other food and drinks are available to purchase.

Contact Fever Support in advance about dietary or allergen requirements so the event team can provide relevant menu and allergen information. Before ordering, also check ingredients with the individual food vendor.

Personal food and drink are not generally permitted. Exceptions include bottled water, children’s drinks, baby food and milk, and food or drink required for medical, allergy or dietary reasons. Do not bring alcohol into the event. Contact Fever Support in advance if you need help planning for a specific requirement.

Wear warm, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for uneven outdoor ground. If you are skating, also bring suitable socks.

The event aims to operate in winter weather. If conditions prevent safe operation, affected guests will be contacted and told the available options, which may include rescheduling or alternative arrangements. Therefore, check messages relating to your booking before travelling.

You may take photographs and videos for personal use. Be considerate of other guests and photograph your own party where possible. However, commercial filming requires prior written permission. Official photography and filming may take place; tell staff on arrival if you or a child in your care should not appear in promotional material. You can also buy official Grotto photographs separately.

Some parts of the experience may include smoke, fog and flashing lights. Starlight sessions have quieter audio, but lighting remains unchanged. Contact Fever Support about specific sensory needs before booking.

Bag searches and security screening may be carried out by SIA-licensed security staff on entry and again on re-entry. Follow the security team’s directions.

Do not bring weapons or sharp items, including knives, penknives, scissors, corkscrews, metal nail files or toy or replica guns; fireworks, flares or smoke bombs; glass bottles; alcohol; illegal substances or so-called legal highs; skateboards, recreational scooters or e-scooters, rollerblades; drones; full-face masks or balaclavas, including costume masks; or other dangerous or offensive items. Mobility scooters are covered separately in the access guidance. Security may require lawful prohibited items to be returned to your car. Items believed to be illegal may be confiscated and passed to the relevant authorities.

The event is primarily outdoors. However, some covered areas are available for shelter, dining and relaxation on a first-come, first-served basis. Ground may be uneven, wet or muddy.

Live entertainment runs on event opening days from 4 to 24 December 2026. Check the schedule on arrival for acts and timings. However, live entertainment does not continue after Christmas Eve.

You may return to your car and re-enter the event. Before leaving, obtain a security hand stamp, then show it when you return. You will also be subject to another security search. Keep to your booked attraction times.

Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated smoking areas.
